It is difficult to say how much gita contains but ch 2 is sufficient for us which is duty with devotion and if we go beyond….Jyaayasee chet karmanaste mataa buddhir janaardana; then devotion with duty which is spirituality begins .
Veda says..
ENVELOPED by the Lord must be This All—each thing that
moves on earth.
With that renounced enjoy thyself. Covet no wealth of
any man.
This is core idea of gita and going beyond it , goswamiji writes…
jo na tarai bhava sagara nara samaja asa pai,
so krata nindaka mandamati atmahana gati jai.
.The man who, though equipped with all these resources, fails to cross the ocean of
metempsychosis is ungrateful and dull-witted and meets the fate of a self-murderer.
Na cha maam taani karmaani nibadhnanti dhananjaya;
Udaaseenavadaaseenam asaktam teshu karmasu.
These actions do not bind Me, O Arjuna, sitting like one indifferent, unattached to those
acts!
Na maam karmaani limpanti na me karmaphale sprihaa;
Iti maam yo’bhijaanaati karmabhir na sa badhyate.
Actions do not taint Me, nor have I a desire for the fruits of actions. He who knows Me
thus is not bound by actions.
Evam jnaatwaa kritam karma poorvair api mumukshubhih;
Kuru karmaiva tasmaat twam poorvaih poorvataram kritam.
Having known this, the ancient seekers after freedom also performed actions; therefore,
do thou perform actions as did the ancients in days of yore.
1.Why are you worried unnecessarily? Who are you afraid of? Who can harm you?
Klaibyam maa sma gamah paartha naitat twayyupapadyate;
Kshudram hridaya daurbalyam tyaktwottishtha parantapa..2/2.
2.Whatever has happened that was for good, whatever is happening that is for good and whatever will happen that will also be for good.
Avinaashi tu tad viddhi yena sarvam idam tatam;
Vinaasham avyayasyaasya na kashchit kartum arhati..2/17
You do not regret past. Also do not worry future. Present is flowing.
Naasato vidyate bhaavo naabhaavo vidyate satah;
Ubhayorapi drishto’ntastwanayos tattwadarshibhih…2/16
3. What have you lost that make you cry? What had you brought that is missing? What had you developed which had since disappeared?-----------------
Ashochyaan anvashochastwam prajnaavaadaamshcha bhaashase;
Gataasoon agataasoomshcha naanushochanti panditaah…2/11
Aashcharyavat pashyati kashchid enam
Aashcharyavad vadati tathaiva chaanyah;
Aashcharyavacchainam anyah shrinoti
Shrutwaapyenam veda na chaiva kashchit…2/29
Practicality of gitagyan lies in this shloka...
Yatra yogeshwarah krishno yatra paartho dhanurdharah;
Tatra shreervijayo bhootirdhruvaa neetirmatirmama.
Wherever there is Krishna[ soul ], the Lord of Yoga, wherever there is Arjuna [ controlled mind ] , the archer, there
are prosperity, happiness, victory and firm policy; such is my conviction...18/78
